Scale model set of the Great Hall vaulted roof for Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and used in following Potter films
Made of hundreds of pieces of plywood sections cut by a very early CNC router that I assembled and glued together like a 3D jigsaw puzzle, adding steam formed dowel sections.
Once assembled I used several specially made hand tools to distress and age the plywood, adding thousands of miniature wood worm hole before Ricardo Evangelista and I assembled all the sections together along with the stone wall sections Ricky made.
I collaborated in constructing several other architectural elements of the scale model of Hogworts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry including the large conical roof, Professor Dumbledore's office and the castellated ramparts. Then I made trees, lots and lots of trees; used in the surrounding landscape of Hogworts and smaller Scots pine trees for the scale model of the landscape onto which Hogworts was cgi'd (images below).
I worked in the propshop as buyer and prop maker on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Making multiples of objects such as vacformed icicles, electroplated stars, moons and birds used to decorate the Christmas trees in the Great Hall and collaborated in making many of the key props including; the Nimbus 2001 cutting and double dip dying nylon, finishing and polishing broom handles, moulding and casting Professor Snapes wand, etching glass medicine cups with magic runes and surface treating Hagrid's giant sized teapot and lantern to mention a few.
I like these big butts and I cannot lie. Made for Duncan Mude at D-Forms for City of London and Keep Britain Tidy Cigarette Litter Film
I constructed Printed graphics around spray painted foam, then distressed
Sculptor on Tim Burton's remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Wearing a harness for most of the job due to a lack of horizontal surfaces throughout the huge set; I created the area of path running alongside the chocolate river on which the oopma lumpa's appear and dance (image below) and surrounding geometric mounds.
Scale model of demilitarized zone on James Bond Die Another Day. Myself and Jake Yocum landscaped, planted, made model trees and constructed the set to create the illusion of a much larger landscape, difficult to see in photographs as it was so effective!
I then worked alongside the special effects crew in laying cortex in trenches to create several diiferent explosion scenes including the ripple earthquake explosion effect scene seen at 0:03 and 0.20
I also made many different types of trees and shrubs in different scales and dressed several scale model sets including the waterfall set in which Bond's hovercraft falls off, an island and the inside of a copy of the Eden project domes
